A Lazy Day

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: General Nonsense

I took a break from editing my upcoming novel today, so that I could catch up on the magazines that have been relentlessly stacking up around me. I also managed to finish a novel I’d been reading. What a great feeling it is to read for pleasure! I would definitely be a miserable full-time editor!

I’m having an unproductive, lazy day. I’m sure I’ll curse myself later for all the “wasted” time. But sometimes we just need to float along with the mood, even if that mood is lazy!

Final Edit

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: In The Works

I have been working on the final edit for my upcoming novel, now titled Beyond Salvation. I have to say that I do not enjoy this process! It’s so incredibly tedious and truly takes the fun out of reading. Someday I will have an editor to pass this job on to (and I will truly worship that person for doing what I hate!). However, for now, I will plug along in my editing process and hope I don’t miss too much along the way.

Title?

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: In The Works

The working title of my upcoming novel has been Lost And Found. While the title works for the plot, I’ve never been completely happy with it. I don’t think it has that draw to grab a reader’s’ attention. I’ve come up with a new title: Beyond Salvation. If the feedback is good, that one will probably stick.

No Justice

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: My Published Novels

NJ Front CoverHow far would you go to right a wrong?

For Michael Sykora, killing started as blind rage. Then it became something he’s good at.
To most of those who know him, Michael is a software designer, a smart but average guy
with a workaholic nature. To a chosen few, Michael is a part-time hit man whose specialty is eliminating hard-core criminals.

Michael has managed to keep his two personas separate. Until now. When Nicki, a close friend, gets into trouble, Michael steps in to help. Having lost his fiance to a brutal crime, Michael will do whatever necessary to keep from losing another woman in his life.

At one time or another, don’t we all wish we could do the things our Justice system cannot or will not? What would it take to push you over the edge?

No Justice is my third novel. This one was originally published with a different cover. Recently I did some revisions and gave it a new look! You can now find it on my website -  www.QuietFuryBooks.com – as well as on Amazon.

I am at work on Lost And Found, the sequel to No Justice. Lost And Found (tentative title) should be available in a couple of months!

Hit List

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: My Published Novels

Hit List Cover (small)Would you give up your sanity in order to forget?

Sanity is not something you lose, like your car keys or that elusive sock in the dryer. That’s what Ian believed before his mother stepped over the edge from sane to crazy.

No one is able to give Ian a reasonable explanation. Corinne suffers from severe memory loss, odd behavior, and paranoid delusions. Or at least Ian had been told they were delusions. After all, who would be hiding outside watching his mother? And why?

Ian hires private investigator Lucianna Martel to retrace the events of his mother’s last sane day. During Lucianna’s investigation, she and Ian learn that Corinne may not be so crazy after all.

Hit List is my second novel. Have you read it? Interested in reading it? Have something to say about it? I’d love to hear from you!

Enemies And Playmates

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: My Published Novels

EP Front Cover When the abused decide to fight back, the abuser’s world might just shatter.

Lauren Covington’s family maintains a grand facade that belies the life they live behind closed doors. Alex Covington, Lauren’s father, keeps a tight rein on his family through dominance, abuse, and obsessive control. Consequently, Lauren doesn’t believe she could ever trust a man, much less fall in love with one.

When Lauren meets Jesse Ryder, her carefully constructed protective wall shatters. She falls hopelessly and completely in love. It’s only fitting that Jesse is a private detective who had once worked for her father, had defied him, and was now the subject of Alex Covington’s wrath.

Amidst devastating loss, betrayal, and her father’s destructive pursuit of Jesse, Lauren finds the trust and love she had always longed for.

First Edit Completed!

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: In The Works

I just completed the first edit of my novel Lost And Found! I am printing it now, then it will be off to my “first reader”. This person is and always has been my mom. She’s an avid reader and will let me know if there are any flaws in the story. Plus, she’s my mom. And it’s always best to have that initial review done by a person who supports you no matter what!
