November’s issue of Gulity As Charged, my monthly newsletter is now posted on my website! This issue covers the history of lie detector / polygraph machines.

Did you know that one of the men who advanced the technology for polygraphs also created the comic book Wonder Woman?

Read about that and more!

Prison Tattoos

Author: Darcia Helle  //  Category: Things I've Read

I just read in Psychology Today that a mafia ritual in Russian prisons is for the prisoners to give tattoos to one another. That in itself is not so uncommon. What freaked me out was how it is done:

“Their ink is made from soot shaved off their shoes and mixed with urine.” Okay, umm… yuck!

“It’s injected via guitar strings attached to electric shavers.” That image conjures something like a medieval torture device.

I will never be able to look at tattoos the same way again.

Such a great line:
There’s the scarlet thread of murder running through the colourless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it.
