Susan, that's exactly the problem with getting a book (or a movie, etc.) from someone else's recommendation. Even people with similar tastes will disagree on certain things. I've stumbled upon that problem a couple of times and it's always a dilemma on how to handle the review.

Drew's writing style grabs the reader and pulls them into the heart of the story. I have read both books and although I don't usually write in that genre, I was enthralled (and scared a bit!) with his talents. Great job Drew! Can't wait for the next one. Thank you Darcia for giving us an insight to Drew. Blessings, Laura Hern

Thanks for stopping by, Linda. I agree. I'd never want to be a character in one of Drew's books, either. But I do love them!

Thanks so for the compliments, Linda and Darcia. I'm beyond flattered. Nothing makes me happier than knowing I gave someone a few hours of enjoyment through my books. It's a feeling I can't describe. I take my work very seriously and job one is making sure my readers feel their money and time are well spent.

Terry, best of luck with your writing and I hope you enjoy my books when you get to them. I think the most recent one, The Lion the Lamb, the Hunted, would be good one for a character study. Just my personal opinion, but Patrick is so rich with depth and flaws. A truly sympathetic character and probably my favorites to write so far.

Linda - thank you for introducing me to Andrew's writing. I am just now getting a real look, having bought the kindle of his second novel. Looking forward to good writing! Congratulations to you, too, for your part in his success.

Drew's books are amazing and, although not listed side by side in the genre category, I saw similarities in them in that they were both about people that a reader could relate to. I would NEVER want to be a character in one of his books and yet found I could easily get into the characters. Neither of his books are my genre of choice and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. Simply put, good writing is good writing and a great story tells it all. Drew knows how to tell a good story in a way that will have you hooked from the beginning. His work is refreshing.

Terry, I'm also completely character-driven. (In both my reading taste and my own writing.) Andrew is a master at characterization. Nothing feels contrived. His characters feel like that have a life off the pages. He makes it seem effortless and, I think, you'll find yourself sucked right into his fictional world.

I love how you describe your fiction writing goal. I wish you much success in your own writing journey.
