The June issue of Guilty As Charged is online! The newsletter, titled Human Trafficking: Lives Bought and Sold, explores the topic of modern day slavery. I’m truly horrified by this. If you think it doesn’t touch your life, think again. Slaves are taken from and are harbored in almost every country. The slave trade rivals the drug trade, yet no government agencies are forming to help rescue these men and women, boys and girls. We fund billions into the DEA, so they can raid pot farms. Isn’t it time we channeled more of that into stopping the slave trade?
The May issue of Guilty As Charged is now up on my site! This month, we’ll take a look at Dr. Guillotin and his beheading machine. This was considered a more “humane” and “noble” way to die. I’m pretty sure my heart would stop, just being faced with the thing!
The April issue of Guilty As Charged is now up on my site! In this issue, I have an interview with a correctional officer. This person was open and honest about what the job is like (and that’s not easy to come by!). I hope you’ll all read the interview and share your thoughts.

And a huge thank you goes to my correctional officer friend!
Should Superior Court Judges be allowed to serve life terms? Should physical and/or psychological health be a consideration? This is a rare position that entitles the person to a lifetime position, no questions asked.
I explore this topic in the March issue of Guilty As Charged, which is now up on my site. Share your thoughts – take the poll at the end of the article!
The February issue of Guilty As Charged is now up on my site! This issue is Alcatraz: An Island’s History. Along with the newsletter, I’ve posted pictures of the island.
Most of the island’s history is unpleasant, from its early use as a military fortress throughout its days as a federal prison. My husband and I were on Alcatraz about 10 years ago. I can’t even imagine being locked in those cold concrete cells all day!
